Put more simply, these aims can be seen as providing:
-
• Support for those of advanced years to help provide a better quality of life;
-
• Assistance for those with financial or health problems, beyond the scope of local or state agencies. For example, the charity has provided electricity vouchers and paid the fees for additional necessary chiropody;
-
• Financial assistance, where appropriate, to individuals or groups for educational, recreational and leisure time occupations. In this area the charity has provided assistance for students to buy books and supported the village halls in Lowsonford and Rowington, local sports clubs and a number of other organisations catering for the needs of local residents.
Over the years the trustees, who are all local people, have helped many individuals and organisations in the Parish. The trustees are always pleased to consider requests for financial assistance and these are dealt with in strict confidence.
Should anyone who lives in the Parish of Rowington feel that the trustees might be able to help in any way they should contact John Hale on 01926 840368.
